Gulf Breeze Middle School Students Go For the Gold!

students with dolphin cards

You are looking at students who have read over a total of 520 quality novels representing some of the best middle school literature available (Sunshine State Young Readers Award 6-8 collection) and this photo was taken in mid-December. Those blue Literary Dolphin cards that they are flashing represent 3 or more SSYRA books and the gold ones represent 10 or more books.  The numbers of students and books grow daily. Why? Ask school library media specialist Sharon Henderson, or any member of the Gulf Breeze Middle School's Reading Literacy Team why these students are motivated and they will tell you about their reading initiative.

Is your school doing wonderful things related to the Sunshine State Young Readers Award? Email the SSYRA webmaster!
